Dawn and Josh are family. Like they are literally family because they are my girlfriend’s sister and brother in law to be. This shoot was pretty special to all of us because Dawn is going to be a mommy and they trusted me to document the journey of their little one. At the time of these photos, Dawn was 6-7 months pregnant.Dawn and Josh are also engaged so we started with photos of the ring and baby shoes. The two things kinda happened around the same time so why not capture that as a moment right? As we progressed, I began to tell the story of the introduction of Gabe to the world while capturing the emotions held by his parents. From the shoes he’ll wear on his feet to the clothes he’ll wear to the stories his parents will read to him, I chronicled the path that his parents have set for him.The most exciting part of this shoot was actually knowing that Gabe will grow up with these pictures. For Dawn, Josh, and Gabe I have stopped time and captured moments that will live forever. One day he’ll get to look back and see himself before he was born. He will literally get to travel to a time before he knew what life was. Capturing these moments and memories is something I will never forget. I’m so happy I could be a part of such a beautiful thing.To Josh, you are a loving, kind father, never lose that. Be stern in your decisions and lead your family. To Dawn, you care so much about your baby boy and it shows. I know you’ll always do the right thing to protect him. You’ll make a great mommy. To Gabe, little man I can’t wait to watch you grow into a proper human. You have excellent parents who would literally go to the ends of the universe for you. When you’re older, look back at this and appreciate them.
