Portraits of Errin G. at ItsLarryG Creations
As a photographer husband, I absolutely love taking portraits of my wife, Errin G. Recently, she has become my go to person to photograph, besides myself, when I want to test out new locations or lighting set ups.
For this particular set of images, I decided to set up a backdrop system in my home studio and take some test portraits with a slightly different lighting technique.
I decided to try using off camera flash positioned slightly behind the subject (around 45 degrees) near the edge of the backdrop as a rim/hair light while cross lighting from the front.
Towards the end of this super short shoot, I added a green gel to the rim light for a different effect.
I’ve been taking photos of Errin since our 3 or 4th date and the series of silly faces she makes at me has not changed. I love the genuine laugh shots we create and she makes test shooting a ton of fun.
