Riding the Wave
Something I’m starting to notice about myself is I like to have some input or control of the things that go on if I know they will affect me. Example, a friend suggests lets go rob a bank. I’m going to say no because that could affect my life in a major way. Alternate example, my girlfriend asks if I want to eat a chic fil a. I’m going to say yes or I don’t care because I can still choose what food I want to eat at said place. I say all this to say, we don’t always have complete control over the situation and sometimes you just have to ride the wave of life.
As a creative person, sometimes I struggle with inspiration and motivation, not only to create but in life and in my work. I’m learning that you have to embrace and ride the waves of creativity, motivation, and inspiration that life gives you. Conditions aren’t always going to be perfect for what you want, but you have to work with what you’re given.
Last week was an amazing week for shooting videos. The sun was out, it wasn’t too hot or too cold, but this week has been completely rainy and muggy and all over the place (south Louisiana amirite). I’m still riding a wave of creativity, so instead of just complaining (which I have done to myself) I’ve decided to continue the wave and blog, edit pictures, re-strategize, and work on my personal goals that don’t involve video. This is what I mean by embracing the wave. I have still been smitten with the create stick, but since I can’t create what I want, I’m creating what I can.
Create what you can, when you can.
